As far as my rates: I get $45/ hour for both ground/oral and flight instruction time. The aircraft rental is through Time Builders and another private individual at the Deland Airport.
A Cessna 150 is $75/hr, and the two Cessna 172's are available for $90 and $100 per hour respectively.
I would recommend the $90 172.
An average lesson, in the airplane, run between 1.2 to 1.6 hours. Then there is Oral/Ground time of around .5 hours.
The average lesson is usually around 2.0 hours.
2 x 45 = $90 Oral/Ground
1.5 x 90=$135 Aircraft
Total cost per lesson is approx. $ 225
These times are avg. and can vary (more and less) with lesson content.
